So what’s up, I like to cook. Actually I LOVE cooking. I never really have a chance to, and also never gave myself a chance to since ‘96. For one reason or another I never wanted to be home so I grew lazy. Anyway, today I went to the grocery and bought 4 discounted Center Cut steaks, and three whole chickens (Ralphs was having a crazy sale, so why not?).
With the steaks (in detail):
—I first applied a light dry rub of McCormicks Garlic Pepper
—Next, I placed two steaks together in a marinade I found at Costco for korean meats in the “original” flavor and the other two separately; one in the “garlic” marinade and the other in the “pinneapple” flavor, ALL in ziploc bags.
—They will sit and settle in the refridgerator for a couple hours.
***Because I don’t yet have a barbeque grill (recent events have postponed my purchase until further notice), the next best thing is to bake***
—The steaks will be cooked at a temperature of 400 degrees, and medium rare (4-5 minutes)
With the whole chicken (in detail):
—First for space and easier storage/marinating, I halved the chicken.
—I then coated the chicken with a light rub of olive oil.
—I took a 5x9 pan/plastic storage container and based the bottom with Knudsen Buttermilk. It’s cool because with Knudsen you can see the flakes of butter in the milk kinda like Goldschlager.
—After coating the container, I placed the halved chickens (skin side down) inside and then poured buttermilk on top and around the chickens.
—The chickens will then sit a few hours OR overnight for settling.
—When the chickens are removed from the container, I’ll wipe the excess milk off them and then apply a rub of Cayenne, Pakrika and Garlic Pepper onto the chicken and then place in oven for baking.
…thank you and goodnight (for now).
