So, I’m sort of a picky person but only when it comes to things I’m comfortable with/in; in this case: clothes.  I’m not one for fashion, basically I always wear black jeans, black Hanes pocket T’s (sometimes very few band shirts), black polo shirts (1 all black w/ red logo Fred Perry, one Sailor Jerry, one Munsing Wear, and one Old Navy) and all black slip on Vans, with the occasional zip hood or (black) jean jacket.  Also when it comes to shorts, I never wear shorts unless I necessarily have to (like for work or when it’s NINE HUNDRED degrees outside) which is where this story is going.  Recently, I found a pair of shorts that I liked at one of my local malls/Macy’s locations (a pair of charcoal Element shorts) and never thought to get them, partly ‘cause I didn’t want to pay the $50.  More recently (like yesterday), at another Macy’s location I saw that shorts were 25% off, being that it’s now fall/winter.  So I call the Macy’s that carried the size I was looking for, which was no longer available BUT they did tell me two locations that carried them: one close to where I live and one up in Roseville/Sacramento (which is 8 hours away).  I went and picked up the pair close to me, and still wanted the other two pairs that were in Roseville/Sacramento (you know, as ‘backup’ pairs).  All day today I was calling them only to get a busy signal which is weird because you first get a recorded message.  After the first couple times I called my friend Chris V (@chrisvfoh on the twEEtter) because I was gonna have him get them for me and ship ‘em down to see how close he was to that mall.  Chris tells me that (here’s the point of the link and picture…) the mall had caught on fire two days ago from an arson suspect (read the news link) and won’t be open for approximately one month.
The point?  Looks like I won’t have the shorts, but at the same time they won’t be going anywhere anytime soon, so I’m gonna have to keep following up on it so I can have my ‘backup’ pairs, because I’d hate to have to find something ‘new’ when it comes to things I really don’t care for anyway.  Function over fashion, but I guess looks somewhat matter, eh?
